Travis Prestwich primarily works in the wrongful death and personal injury areas. He focuses on all types wrongful death and personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability and product liability cases. He recognizes that these cases require experience and personal attention to bring about the best and most just outcome for his clients. Mr. Prestwich engages in alternative dispute resolution methods like mediation, settlement conferences and arbitration where possible to reduce the stress and expense for his clients. He recently resolved two wrongful death claims, one in mediation and the other through arbitration, and obtained very favorable results for his clients. However, when these methods are not possible, he is an effective trial attorney in both jury and bench trials. Mr. Prestwich also handles various family law matters including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, guardianships and adoptions. He understands the necessity of helping his clients through difficult circumstances, either due to the delicate nature of family law matters or due to the worry and stress a death or injury can place on a person and her family. Although he grew-up in Utah and Arizona, Mr. Prestwich considers himself an “almost-native” Oregonian. His wife is from Salem and three of his four children were born in Salem as well. He enjoys spending time with his family and the various activities in which his children are involved. He also believes in serving in his community. Mr. Prestwich has volunteered as a youth mentor and advisor, a Little League coach for both softball and baseball, Boy Scout leader and currently serves as a counselor and advisor in his church and on the Site Council for Leslie Middle School and as a Board Member for South Salem’s Junior Baseball of Oregon organization. Mr. Prestwich is fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish, having served a two-year church mission in the Dominican Republic and later obtaining a Spanish minor in college. Professionally, Mr. Prestwich currently serves as President and Board Member of the Marion County Bar Association and volunteers as a judge for Mock Trial and Moot Court at Willamette University School of Law. He previously served as the Chairman for the Oregon State Bar’s New Lawyer Continuing Legal Education Committee for Salem.
