Charles D. “Charlie” Burt March 19, 1928 - August 4, 1996 Partner Charlie Burt began his legal career in 1953 and was a founding partner in the law firm in 1964. He was a renowned trial attorney throughout the State of Oregon. His peers considered him one of the top criminal defense attorneys, as well as, a successful personal injury lawyer. Some of his cases drew national media attention. He served as the president of the Oregon Trial Lawyers’ Association, where his peers awarded him with the Distinguished Trial Lawyer Award. He also served as the president of the Marion County Bar Association and Oregon State Bar. Most importantly to us, Charlie served as a mentor to the four senior partners and always was willing to share a bit of advice or a limerick. Often they were one in the same.
