Personal Injury

Personal Injury: Personal injury is a broad area of law that relates primarily to representing individuals injured by the negligence or intentional conduct of others. Personal injury includes automobile accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability and products liability. Under our laws, when a person is injured by another’s wrongful conduct, the injured person can seek fair and just compensation for the “damages” resulting from the injury. The damages generally consist of two categories, i.e. “economic damages” and “noneconomic damages”. Economic damages include compensation for past and future medical expenses and lost wages, as well as, other forms of objectively verifiable monetary damage. Additionally, the law allows an injured person to receive “noneconomic damages”, or those more subjective damages relating to the pain, suffering, emotional distress and changes in lifestyle suffered as a result of physical injuries.
